Located near Kamloops, British Columbia, Tranquille Sanatorium is a former tuberculosis hospital and mental institution with a dark and haunted history.
The facility opened in 1907 to treat patients suffering from tuberculosis and later served as a mental institution before closing in the 1980s. Over the years, many patients died within its walls, and it is believed that their spirits still haunt the premises. Visitors to Tranquille Sanatorium have reported a wide range of paranormal activity, including eerie footsteps, doors slamming shut on their own, and shadowy figures moving through the halls.
The underground tunnels that connect the various buildings are particularly notorious for their ghostly encounters. One of the most well-known spirits is that of a young girl who is often seen playing in the hallways or standing silently at the end of long corridors. Her presence is often accompanied by the sound of distant laughter or crying.
Another commonly reported apparition is that of a former nurse, who appears to be still tending to her patients. She is often seen moving from room to room, her ghostly figure creating an unsettling atmosphere. Paranormal investigators have captured numerous EVPs and other evidence suggesting that Tranquille Sanatorium may indeed be haunted.
